Bellemont, AZ – November 13, 2015: Funding is often the difference between life and death for public safety officials.  First responders protect our homes and communities, they provide the first line of defense for our citizens and with the assistance of state and federal grant funds smaller departments receive the tools they need to do their jobs safer and smarter.

Ponderosa Fire District was recently awarded an Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grant for additional first responder equipment.  Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grants are designed to eliminate deficiencies in agency’s programs or expand existing ones. Ponderosa Fire District was able to use these funds to enhance the portable lighting and reflective markers on the engines in order to make the apparatus more visible while in the emergency setting.  The funding provided will continue to help future response safety.
