Ponderosa Fire, in conjunction with several other departments in the area, conducted a live burn training at an actual house. The owner of the house wanted it removed, so they donated it to the fire department for training. When internal training was complete, the house was allowed to burn to the ground. Fire crews managed the fire in order to protect the nearby trees, power pole, and grassy fields.

September 4th and 5th, 2010 - Coconino County Demolition Derby

Ponderosa Fire provided an engine to stand by at the Coconino County Demolition Derby. The crews consisted of firefighters from Ponderosa Fire, Summit Fire, and Highlands Fire.

May 15, 2010 - PFAC Drills

Ponderosa Fire personnel attended the annual PFAC wildland fire drill. WT81, E826, and C-81 were used for the drill.

May 8, 2010 - WFAC Drills

Ponderosa Fire personnel attended the annual WFAC wildland fire drill. E813 and WT81 were used for the drill.

June 2010 - Eagle Rock Fire

Located just north of the Ponderosa Fire district, the Eagle Rock Fire consumed 3420 acres of forest. Ponderosa Fire provided a water supply and two 3000 gallon water tenders (and crews) to assist in fighting the fire.
